Greek women dominate as Europe’s new basketball champions

 

The Deaf Greek Women’s Basketball Team has been anointed European champions after its 52-41 victory against Lithuania over the weekend.

The team of Athena Zerva rocketed all the way to the finals beating the opponents. The score in the 10-minute periods went as follows: 14-13, 26-22, 37-30, to finish with the 52-41.

As for the Greek men’s team, they finished 5th in the competition after beating Polan 69-54.
