Athens International Airport ‘Eleftherios Venizelos’ has been awarded again, this time for efficiency during the Air Transport Research Society (ATRS) 20th Anniversary World Conference held in Rhodes.
It should be noted that Athens airport was awarded the title of “Airport of the Year” in the 10-30 million passengers category at the Air Transport News (ATN) awards ceremony that took place in Geneva in 2015.
“We are deeply honoured for this award by the esteemed Air Transport Research Society as the most efficient airport in its category for the operating year 2015. The specific year, marked by slow worldwide growth and a highly volatile economic and political environment in Greece, has indeed been extremely challenging,” said Dr Yiannis Paraschis, CEO of Athens International Airport.
