A bunch of New York artists are heading to Mykonos this month for a group show titled 'Greek Gotham' at Marina Vranopoulos’ one year old art space Dio Horia.
Opening July 29, the show will bring together 16 of New York’s most prominent artists- including Nina Chanel Abney, KAWS, and Erik Parker. This is the brainchild of art consultant Maria Brito, who is also the curator of the exhibition.
Dio Horia is an art platform and gallery for contemporary art and culture that opened in 2015. Through a vibrant programme of exhibitions, residencies, events, publications and pop-up bookshops, the gallery stimulates debate, experimentation, creativity and knowledge exchange with their audience.
Founded by Marina Vranopoulou, Dio Horia aims to support artists in the development and exhibition of their work. In addition, it also encourages a dialogue between the local and global art scene, promoting Greek and international art to a wider audience.
Each of the artists whose work will be displayed at the exhibition 'Greek Gotham' was asked to create a piece portraying in some way, shape, or form their interpretation of a Greek word.
This is a wonderful initiative that is going to bring artists and lovers of art from all across the world to Mykonos.
