Global sports brand Adidas is loved by celebrities, sports junkies and fashionistas around the world and their tennis shoe collection Barricade this year includes a style dedicated to Alexander the Great.

‘Barricade 2016 Alexander Shoes’ are being promoted as a product that has been ‘inspired by the great Greek king’.

So now you can train, run, or casually stroll in a pair of these funky orange and black sneakers that have a meaningful Greek connection.

According to Adidas, the left and right shoes are coloured differently to represent the general’s unique eye condition, as he had one dark and one light eye. The lion and sun are symbols of his Macedonian heritage while “Toi Kratistoi” (the strongest) is written on the insole to remember his response when asked who would inherit his vast kingdom.

The laser cut patterns represent the infamous spear of his armies, the “sarissa”.

What’s even better is they are now available worldwide at a sale price of US $99.95 through Tennis Warehouse- www.tennis-warehouse.com/adidas_Barricade_2016_Alexander_The_Great_Mens_Shoe/descpageMSADIDAS-AMB16AG.html
