Ghanaian international, Wakaso Mubarak, has signed a 3-year deal with Panathinaikos. The 25-year old midfielder was released as a “free agent” from Russian side Rubin Kazan and was a personal choice of Andrea Stramaccioni.

Wakaso played in Spain from 2008 until 2013 for 3 different clubs, Elche, VIllarreal, and Espanyol. In 2013, he moved to Russia for Rubin Kazan and one year later he was loaned to Celtic. Last season, he played on loan with Las Palmas in the Spanish Primera Division, registering 20 appearances and scoring one goal. Additionally, Wakaso has 41 caps for his country. He played with Ghana at the 2014 World Cup and one-year later, scored in the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations.

The Ghanaian midfielder sorted out the issues with his passport and signed a 3-year deal with Panathinaikos as a “free agent.” He will take off for Holland, where he will join the rest of the team in pre-season training.

Panathinaikos is also close to signing Cristian Ledesma, who has been training with the club this past week.
