Comeback victory for AEK Larnaca

AEK Larnaca came back from 2-0 to defeat Cliftonville 2-3 in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League 2nd Qualifying Round. A second half goal from Beitar Jerusalem gave the Israeli side a 1-0 victory against Omonia.

Omonia will have a tough task ahead of them in the 2nd leg after falling 1-0 in Israel to Beitar Jerusalem. A late goal in the final 20 minutes from Abuhatzira gave the home side the victory. Omonia will host the Israeli side for the second leg. The Cypriots will need to win the by 2 goals or more to advance. A 1-0 win will send the game to extra time while any other one goal victory will put Beitar Jeruslalem through on away goals.

AEK Larnaca came away with an impressive 2-3 comeback victory over Cliftonville after falling behind by two goals. McGuiness opened the score for the Northern Irish side in the 10th minute and Donnelley doubled the lead in the 50th minute. Two goals within 5 minutes brought AEK Larnaca level and Tomas gave the Cypriots the 2-3 victory with 13 minutes remaining. AEK Larnaca will host Cliftonville for the second leg as a win or draw will send AEK to the 3rd Qualifying Round.
