Greek police have busted an illegal online gambling network which led to the arrest of three Greek nationals and 125 Asian nationals including the alleged ringleaders.
Announcement of the police operation was made at a press conference by the Alternate Minister of Public Order and Citizen Protection Nikos Toskas who hailed police efforts in taking down the illegal electronic gambling ring, which operated out of five rented luxury houses in affluent suburbs of Athens.
According to Toskas, the operation was technically sophisticated, using closed circuit television systems to monitor the perimeter of the properties.
During the police operations, authorities seized €150k in cash and a variety of computer hardware.
