The heroic 19-year-old Greek teenager who was killed after throwing himself in front of crazed gunman Ali Sonboly to protect his twin sister during last Friday’s shooting spree in Munich was laid to rest in his village of Aratos near Komotini in Northern Greece.
The funeral of 19-year-old Hossein Daiyitsik was attended by Panagiotis Kouroumblis, the Minister for Interior and Administrative Reconstruction, who offered his condolences on behalf of the government and of the Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and Parliament President Nikos Voutsis.
Attending the teenager’s funeral also were local MPs Aichan Karagiousouf, Moustafa Moustafa and Ilhan Ahmet along with Metropolitan Panteleimon of Moronia and Komotini.
