Greece has been experiencing a string of attacks on religious grounds and sites, some attributed to anarchist groups others to foreign third parties, with the latest incident being the arson attack on the courtyard of the building of Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, Kolonaki, Athens.
Arsonists used a petrol bomb in the attacks, which destroyed two cars in the courtyard but left no damage to the building itself.
Previous attacks include those on a disused Church property after squatters were forcibly removed by police and last weekend’s disruption of a church service in Thessaloniki by a group of anarchists.
No group has yet to claim responsibility for the arson attack.
