No early elections for Greece says PM

The Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has rejected the speculation of early elections, calling those who consider it a possibility in September as ‘fools’.

“I also hear and read about these scenarios. Now that the country is back on track, the economy is slowly recovering, unemployment is deescalating; whoever is thinking about elections can only be a fool. Whoever is requesting them, is twice the fool,” said Tsipras.

Tsipras responded to questions from the media, during his visit to the village of Kommeno, in Epirus Western Greece where he was participating in commemorative services in honour of the 317 locals who were executed by the Nazi forces in 1943.

During his press conference Tsipras referred to the tragic historical events that affected the region and added that the question of German reparations for the devastation for the country, is still valid and his government will pursue the matter.
