The catastrophic weather in Kalamata over the last few days has tragically left three people dead- one disabled and two elderly victims.
The Mayor of Kalamata has declared the city a state of disaster, as the non-stop rain has caused major damage to the centre and towns nearby.
The heavy rain has resulted with cars being carried away, people being trapped in their vehicles, roads and homes have been flooded and ambulance and emergency rescuers can’t keep up with calls for help.
Emergency rescuers have also been called from Athens and Tripoli to assist.
