According to Greece’s Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, Muslims wishing to celebrate their holy day of Eid al-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice, next week, will be granted prayer spaces.
Specifically, the Ministry will be making available Peace and Friendship Stadium (SEF) in Neo Faliro and the Olympic Stadium (OAKA) in Maroussi.
Meanwhile Muslims in other parts of Greece are encouraged to contact local authorities to find out about prayer areas. Eid al-Adha commemorates Prophet Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail on God's command.
