An extraordinary culinary proposal in the heart of Athens, will say farewell for the winter on October 5- after having offered the unique and delicious meals — at a height of 50 meters — to over 3,000 visitors from over 72 countries.

The amazing concept of “Dinner in the Sky” which is a cross between fine dining and extreme fun, kicked off last year for the first time in Greece and to date has managed to win both Athenians and visitors alike in the Greek capital.

“This year, 10 marriage proposals, dozens of birthdays, many guests with a fear of heights that had a wonderful time, fellow students from Rio in Brazil that accidentally met at the same table after many years and many more endless moments of joy and excitement took place and will remain unforgettable”, said Alexandros Papadopoulos from Dinner in the Sky Greece.

Seating 22 people and lifted to 50 meters high, it offers an exciting experience over the city.  As the table slowly rotates, the restaurant gives guests wonderful views ranging from the lit Acropolis, surrounding mountains, sea and of course the city of Athens. The concept includes experienced chefs that prepare a 5 course meals of modern tastes inspired by Greek tradition and accompanied by Greek wines.

This season, over 66,000 dinner plates were prepared and served by Dinner in the Sky’s Chef Ioanna Kardasi and the team of Deipnosofistirion Catering. In addition, over 1,500 bottles of white, red and rosé Oreinos Ilios Semeli wine were consumed and guests quenched their thirst with Vikos soft drinks and water.

In April, “Dinner in the Sky” was honoured with the Bronze Tourism Award for its unique restaurant concept in the Gastronomy category.

For those who haven’t lived the experience of “Dinner in the Sky” yet, you still have a chance until October 5, otherwise you will have to wait until next year when it re-opens again for peak season in Greece.
