The world’s most popular island destination has one of its resorts nominated in the category of “Most Romantic Resort Hotel” of the Love Travel Awards, the ultimate badge of honour for romantic hotels and resorts around the world.

The luxury resort of Vedema in Santorini has received the sought after nomination after being judged in the category by experienced romance travel professionals as one that stands above and beyond all others.

Vedema is the only hotel from Greece nominated in the prestigious awards and has to compete with hotels from all over the world.

“Even being shortlisted is an amazing accolade, as nominations are the result of thorough examination of numerous hotels worldwide by the world’s most influential romance travel designers and wedding planner experts”, an announcement by Vedema said.

The voting process is now open and anyone who wishes to share their insight can cast their vote here. Voting will close on January 15, 2017, and the winners will be announced on February 13, 2017, in the exclusive awards ceremony in Venice, Italy during Amour, the global romance travel trade show.

Tucked away within the medieval village of Megalohori, Vedema, A Luxury Collection Resort, has evolved from a 400-year-old wine cellar and a 100-year-old mansion into an authentic, Cycladic-styled property. Dedicated to the needs of seasoned travellers, the resort has gained renown as a charming, luxurious and intimate retreat. Located on the western side of the island of Santorini, it is encircled by a traditional stone wall and surrounding vineyards that overlook the village and outlying Aegean Sea.
