After Greek traffic police recorded more than 14,030 violations due to intoxication in 2016, Greek coroners are pleading with drivers to abstain from alcohol altogether during the holidays.

According to data, there were 5,591  car accidents recorded in Greece in the first half of 2016, of which 347 incidents amounted to a total of 378 deaths.

The Hellenic Society of Forensic Medicine noted that local morgues are always filled with the bodies of young people at this time of year.
