World famous fashion brand Gucci has its sights set on the Acropolis, hoping to use the iconic location for a fashion show.
According to Greek media reports Gucci has made a formal request to Greece’s Central Archaeological Council (KAS), asking for permission to host and film a fashion show at the Acropolis in Athens in June this year.
The Council will be making its recommendation to the Greek Ministry of Culture this week, but most speculate that it will reject Gucci’s request.
The Central Archaeological Council is the highest advisory body on all matters pertaining to the protection of ancient monuments, archaeological sites and sites of exceptional historical or legendary importance up to 1830.
Any rejection won’t come as a surprise given the Council’s strict governance and protection of archaeological sites.
