Greece defeated Croatia 10-8 in the World League group stage, but the win was not enough for the Galanolefki to top the group.
The Greek National Water Polo team celebrated a big win over Croatia in the fourth matchday for the FINA World League Preliminary Round. Greece defeated the reigning Olympic Silver medalists 10-8, handing Croatia their first defeat in group play.
The win moved Greece up to 9 points, along with Croatia, in Group B, however Croatia hold onto first place due to their better head-to-head record (defeated Greece 11-6 in matchday 1). The Galanolefki will now need a slip up from Croatia in the remaining two games to claim top spot in the group and advance to the World League Super Final.
Nonetheless, Greece put on a great performance against Croatia and proved once again that they are one of the best teams in the world.
