It has been reported that George Michael’s family may have to wait up to another four weeks to bury the singer, as crucial tests on his body are still taking place.

According to English media there is a delay over toxicology reports on the 53-year-old, meaning his funeral could happen at least 13 weeks after he died on Christmas Day.

The tests are said to determine whether drugs contributed to Michael’s death at his home in Goring, Oxfordshire.

English paper The Sun on Sunday quoted a source as saying, “It is really upsetting that George is still lying in the morgue when people want to say goodbye to him.”

The paper also reported Michael’s assets are now set to be frozen.

An executor will be employed to manage the singer’s £105million estate, while his boyfriend, Fadi Fawaz, could be evicted from his £2.5million home in London.

Although police have stated the singer’s death is not being treated as suspicious, a full inquest will take place if no natural cause of death can be confirmed.
