30TH Lonsdale St Greek Festival set to take over the streets of Melbourne

Greek Songstress Glykeria returns to Melbourne this weekend at the Festival stage for the 30thAnniversary of the Lonsdale St Greek Festival. Glykeria will perform her greatest hits on the Delphi Bank Stage on Saturday 25 February, making this her third performance at Melbourne’s largest celebration of all things Greek.

"It shall be a great delight to reunite with all of you, my dear friends across Australia. My intention is to express my love through the songs that I have selected and to bring amazing moments of entertainment to Greeks in Australia. I cannot wait to see you," Glykeria.

FESTIVAL OF FOOD

Make sure to bring a healthy appetite to the Festival because Lonsdale Street will be lined with food vendors all weekend dishing up classics and modern twists on Greek treats. Just some Festival traders include; The Cypriot Kitchen, St. Gerry’s, Greek Street Food, Cypriot Street Food, Coco Fix, Greek Trojan Yiros, Goody’s Burger House, Ilias the Greek, Mr. Calamaro, To Nostimo, Two Men and a Lemon and many more. Lonsdale Street Greek Precinct Stewards Stalactites, Tsindos and International Cakes will extend their trading out onto the street as well as whisky bar Boilermaker House.

WEEKEND PROGRAM  

Three performance stages will be positioned from Russell through to Swanston street, where local and international acts will captivate audiences. Take an OPA-CIZE class, or cheer on the Zorba 'til You Drop participants in what has become the hottest dance-a-thon in Melbourne. The AA Holdings Stage will host the Magic Mic singing competition as well as a number of local and interstate dancing groups reflecting the many regions of Greece. Don't miss the the Stratakis Brothers from Crete on the Delphi Bank Stage on Sunday evening.
