Greece’s Minister of Culture Lydia Koniordou announced this week during a press conference that she has allocated 2.5 million euros towards restoration works at Kasta Hill, the site of the Amphipolis tomb, saying the works will unify the archaeological sites of Amphipolis and create specially designed trails for visitors.

The  minister added that other works underway include the upgrade of five theaters (Ancient Gitana Thesprotia, Ancient Ambracia, Nikopolis, Kassopi and Dodona) which are linked through the Epirus cultural route.

“We hope the staff will be their positions as of early April,” she said.

Among the announcements was also that of a e-ticket access pilot program which will initially run at the Acropolis, Mycenae, Knossos and Messina sites.
