On the occasion marking Greece's National Holiday this Saturday 25th March, 2017, entry will be free for all visitors to the Acropolis Museum. The Museum exhibition areas will be open from 9am to 8pm.

At 1pm, the Museum President, professor Dimitrios Pantermalis will present to visitors the replica of Kore 685, on which the Swiss painter E. E. Gilliéron (1885-1939) applied ancient colours 100 years ago, based on the drawing of his father and also painter, L. E. Gilliéron (1850-1924). The latter was made right after the discovery of the sculpture in 1888, southwest of the Parthenon.

On the same evening, at 7pm, video excerpts from composer’s George Kouroupos musical project “Voice of oak” will be shown in the temporary exhibition hall “Dodona. The oracle of sounds”, next to the exhibition’s artificial oak. The project “Voice of oak” is inspired by the prophetic oak at Dodona.

The Museum restaurant will also be serving Greek traditional dishes all day. Located on the second floor of the Museum, you will have panoramic views of the Acropolis and the historic hills of Athens.
