The Hellenic Club Sydney will again this year host a traditional midnight feast to celebrate “Pascha”, Greek Orthodox Easter, at its acclaimed restaurant, Alpha. The Pascha supper will incorporate traditional Greek dishes such as succulent lamb shank mayeritsa, spit-roasted whole suckling lamb, tsoureki Easter bread and red dye eggs by chef Peter Conistis. Arthur Balayannis, CEO of the Hellenic Club says “Pascha is one of the most significant celebrations in the Greek Orthodox calendar and the supper held at Alpha provides the opportunity to maintain and promote our traditions”.
From the inaugural Pascha supper held last year the Hellenic Club Sydney raised $5000 which were donated to the soup kitchen at the Greek Orthodox Parish of Saints Constantine and Helen, in Newtown. The Club looks forward to making a further donation to the soup kitchen from the net proceeds of this year’s event.
The supper will be held on Sunday morning 12.30am on 16 April and tickets are priced at $100 per person, $60 for pensioners and children under 15, and free for children under five.
