By 7 years ago

Greece will see an increase in traffic patrol across the country, as special measures will be put into effect on Greece’s national highways as of today, Holy Thursday and for the entire Easter holidays.

As part of its road safety scheme, the Greek traffic police has announced it will increase patrols on the national road network, especially near major cities, airports, bus terminals, ports, railway stations and toll stations.

Trucks weighing over 1.5 tons will also be banned from travelling on Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Monday at predefined hours and on certain parts of the national road network.

The traffic police has warned that severe fines will be imposed in cases of speeding and other driving offences.
