Apart from the post-game scuffle on the pitch between the players and coaching staff of Greece and Bosnia, the visiting Greek fans were attacked by home supporters.

According to reports from Bosnia, Greek fans left injured from the Bilino Polje Stadium in Zenica after Bosnian fans attacked the visiting Greek fans. This all took place after the scuffle between the players and coaching staff of Greece and Bosnia which saw Yiannis Gianniotas lose TWO teeth. The few Greek supporters that attended the game were mainly made up of Greece’s official fan club “The Galanolefkos Faros.”

The incidents in the stands caught the attention of Greece’s players who cried out for help to the Bosnian police. It was Zeca, Maniatis, Tziolis, Karnezis, and Papastathopoulos who rushed to the corner where the Greek fans stood, pleading for help to the Bosnian police. However, it did not help the situation as pictures show the police and stadium security also hitting the Greek fans.

The incidents both on the pitch and in the stands were a shameful ending to the match which saw Greece celebrate an important point against Bosnia, giving our national team the upper hand for second place in the group.

Below are pictures of the Greek players shouting for help for the Greek fans.
