Greece’s national women’s basketball team crushed their Turkish rivals on Thursday, gaining a ticket to the FIBA Eurobasket Womens semi-finals in Prague with a score of 84-55.
This marks the first time the women’s team reaches the final four in the Eurobasket, in a game that has also secured its place in the World Cup in 2018 in Spain (September 22-30).
The 'star player' was Evina Maltsi, who scored a double double with 25 points and 10 rebounds.
In the semi-finals, the girls on the Greek team will face the winner of Thursday's match between France and Slovakia, which begins at 21:30.
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis congratulated the women's national basketball team for reaching FIBA Eurobasket Women's semi-finals.
