Athenian Riviera set to become one of Europe’s finest destinations

Projects exceeding the 10 billion euro mark at the Athenian Riviera are set to make this prime location one of Europe’s finest destinations and a place locals and tourists can enjoy all year round.

With an array of chic hotels, bars, clubs, recreational and cultural spaces already located here, the major pristine make-over is set to see impressive growth in the coming years with many new developments already taking place.

Investors are seeking to tap into the coastal location with the construction of luxury resorts, casinos, holiday villas, shopping centres, business hubs and high standard marinas.

From Piraeus all along the southern Attica coast to Sounion, dozens of projects are under way and prices for seaside properties in the suburbs of Kavouri, Voula and Varkiza have now also soared.

Besides the highly anticipated Hellinikon project, a 7 billion euro plan to transform Athens’ former airport into a world-class tourism destination, other major ventures include the re-launch of Asteria Hotel in Glyfada as an ultra luxury facility by its new owners Grivalia Properties REIC.

Vouliagmeni’s popular Astir Palace is also receiving a major renovation to its hotels and a significant upgrade of the marina. The plan also includes the development of 13-15 luxury residences, restaurants, bars, shops, cultural and sports as well as conference facilities and is set to open in June just in time for the prestigious Posidonia Sea Tourism Forum 2018.
