Stage and screen queen Zoi Laskari who passed away on Sunday was laid to rest on Tuesday at Athens’ 1st cemetery, following a funeral service held at Aghios Dionysios Church in Kolonaki.
The funeral was attended by many family and friends but also leading figures from industry, politics and the arts along with a huge crowd of dedicated fans of the late Laskari.
Roads around the church on Skoufa Street were closed to traffic due to the crowds gathered to bid a last farewell. Her husband Alexandros Lykourezos and her two daughters Maria-Eleni Lykourezou, Martha Koutoumanou and her grand-daughter Zenia Bonatsou accompanied the white coffin to its final resting place in the Lykourezos family tomb in the Athens 1st cemetery, where it was placed amid a final round of applause from the gathered crowds.
