Temperatures soar across Greece as mini heat wave hits in September

September in Greece is always full of sunshine and for those who are still making their way across the Greek islands, enjoying swims at the beach will need to be prepared for a hot one today as temperatures are set to rise to 40 degrees Celsius in some regions.

Meteorologists are predicting the mini heat wave will reach its peak today, September 18 and temperatures will remain exceptionally high for the season also tomorrow.

Areas mainly affected by the mini heat wave are: Central Macedonia, Thessaly, Sporades islands, islands of northern Aegean Sea, central and east Peloponnese and western Crete.
