With Greece's tourism growing rapidly each year, AEGEAN Airlines has announced its new extended program for 2018, which includes 153 destinations in 44 countries and 16.6 available seats, making it a total of 700,000 more than in 2017.
According to media reports, the strengthening of the company’s network in 2018 offers increased accessibility, through new connections, in key markets that function as vital sources of tourism for Greece, such as France, Italy and Germany.
AEGEAN’s flight network for 2018 includes 18 new routes, corresponding to 11 new destinations from the Athens, including Turin, Palermo, Bologna and Lamezia Terme in Italy, Malaga in Spain, Basel in Switzerland, Zagreb and Zadar in Croatia, Vilnius in Lithuania, Cluj-Napoca in Romania and Skopje in FYROM. There will also be seven new routes from Greece’s regional airports, Corfu to Moscow, Santorini to Tel Aviv, Mykonos to Tel Aviv, Mykonos to Beirut, Rhodes to Lyon, Rhodes to Beirut, Heraklion to Beirut.
Aiming to continue strengthening its Athens hub to bring benefits for the city and other regions and islands of Greece, AEGEAN will connect Greece’s capital city with 81 international destinations.
Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair has also just announced that it will launch 23 new routes from Greece to European destinations and also reinstate flights to Chania, Crete for the 2018 summer season.
The Irish airline will include 13 new routes from Athens to destinations in Poland, Germany, Lithuania and Finland.
Their 2018 summer schedule will also include five new routes to and from Thessaloniki and additional routes to and from Mykonos, Corfu, Kefalonia and Santorini.
