Police authorities on the island of Chios have arrested six refugees for breaking and entering into a greenhouse allegedly to steal vegetables.

The six men aged between 13 and 45 appeared before a prosecutor on Monday along with the 75 year old owner of the greenhouse who had fired a warning shot upon noticing the intruders.

Police charged the men for trespassing, destroying private property, and injuring the older man, who was admitted to hospital for preventive reasons.

The greenhouse owner was also arrested for illegal possession of firearms.
