Greece’s golden girl in shooting Anna Korakaki took 1st place in the World Cup shooting tournament held in Guadalajara, Mexico.
The Greek Olympic Champion was originally third among the qualifiers with a total of 585 points (295 in the precision shots, where it was first and 287 in the speed.)
When Keena Jan Chen was eliminated after two bad rounds, Korakakis had no problem keeping the lead and winning. Second place went to German Doreen Feeneck and third place was French girl Matild Lamol.
“I’ve had a few difficult moments in the last few months,” said Korakakis shortly after the medal ceremony.
“That’s why I cried, and this medal came to me at the right moment, I want to thank my mother, my brother, father and coach, but also my partner, who support me all this time, and of course my new sponsor, who will be with me until the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020. “
