Free entry to Acropolis Museum on March 25 to celebrate Independence Day

The Acropolis Museum will once again celebrate Independence Day on Sunday, March 25, with free entrance to all visitors for the permanent exhibits, the current exhibition on the Eleusinian mysteries, and other events, it announced this week.

The museum will be open from 9am to 8pm with the following ongoing events:

-    "The Greeks of 1821 and antiquities", a video using paintings depicting Greeks of the War of Independence from a private collection (March 22-April 7)

-    "Treasures of the Shanghai Museum," with on-site artists working on traditional Chinese art and calligraphy from 10am to 12pm and 1pm to 3pm (March 22-25), also with free entrance.

The Museum restaurant will also be serving traditional Greek dishes all day, which is located on the second floor of the Museum and features panoramic views of the Acropolis and the historic hills of Athens.
