At the young age of 12, Glykeria Skarkou stole the show amongst thousands of competitors at the 2018 Athens Half Marathon, which was held on Sunday, March 18th.
Glykeria took 3rd place in the 5 kilometers race in the city centre of Athens, starting and finishing at Syntagma Square, in front of the monumental building of Greek Parliament, and saw more than 20,000 runners of all ages participate.
"It was a very nice race, although the weather was not good. I did not expect to finish third, and I was of course very pleased. I’ll definitely be back again,” said Glykeria.
