Greek Air Force fighter plane crashes in sea of Skyros pilot found Dead

A Mirage 2000-5 Air Force fighter plane crashed in the sea area about 4 miles northeast of Skyros. The latest information indicates that the Greek aircraft had taken off for interception in the air.

At this time investigations are being made to find and rescue the pilot.

According to SKAI news reports, two Greek fighters took off earlier in order to curb Turkish fighters that violated national airspace. After blocking them and attempting to return back to base, No 1 pilot informed on radio that No 2 pilot was missing.

After a search of the area unfortunately the pilot was found dead.
