‘Smart benches’ will soon be heading to Greece, popping up all around public spaces in Athens.
Equipped with mobile device charging stations, WiFi hotspots, temperature controlled seating, environment sensors, which are all powered by integrated solar panels, giving it full power autonomy, they are becoming very popular in many cities around the world.
So, in case your mobile, tablet or laptop needs charging while you are out and about, or your mobile service isn’t working in the area you are in, these smart benches are there to help you out.
Today, on the 6th and 7th of June, at the “Smart Cities - Digital Citizens Conference”, which will be held at the Royal Olympic Hotel in Greece, the smart bench, one of the most popular Smart Cities gadgets, will be presented for the first time in Greece, showing locals how they work.
Already available in many European capitals that are advanced in "smart" applications and services, the ‘smart bench’ is soon set to hit Athens and other major cities around Greece.
