As of Wednesday 13th June, just in time for Greece’s 2018 summer, Minoan Lines ‘Santorini Palace’ vessel launched a new daily ferry route linking Crete with the Cyclades islands of Santorini, Ios, Paros and Mykonos.
Minoan Lines is one of the largest passenger ferry companies in Europe and Greece. The ‘Santorini Palace’ is the former Highspeed 7 vessel that Minoan Lines acquired as part of its deal with Attica Group to sell their stake in Hellenic Seaways.
In an announcement made by Minoan Lines, the ultra luxurious Santorini Palace vessel aims to enhance its presence in coastal shipping and also enhance the transport of passengers and goods with its experienced staff. “It is one of the most luxurious passenger ferry ships in Europe, in its category. It features state-of-the-art safety and navigation systems and fully refurbished hotel equipment, tailored to every detail, offering a high level of on-board service, luxury, comfort and unique travel experience” Minoan Lines said.
The 1,160 passenger ‘Santorini Palace' ferry offers two levels of airplane-type seats, 104 first-class seats, 5 modern snack bars and an accessory and travel item shop. The vessel also operates at a service speed of 38 knots (roughly 70km/hr) and has a capacity for 38 crew members and 100 vehicles.
