Currently at the harbour of Piraeus, is the world-renowned yacht “Christina O” which will be docked there for a short period of time.
Starting life in World War II as a Canadian frigate, Christina O was purchased in 1954 by Greek shipping magnate and billionaire Aristotle Onassis, who transformed her into the most luxurious private yacht of her time.
Christina O has held many lavish parities and hosted many influential people including Marilyn Monroe, Winston Churchill, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, Prince Rainier and Princess Grace of Monaco, John F. Kennedy and Onassis’ wife and former First Lady of the US, Jackie Kennedy Onassis.
Styled in the early fifties by Caesar Pinnau, the exterior of Christina O is striking and distinctive among other super yachts because of its distinctive clipper bow, long sheer line, rounded superstructure, dazzling white topsides and vibrant yellow funnel. What makes it so unique though is the swimming pool on the main deck with renowned Minoan bull and vaulter mosaic.
Christina O is scheduled to depart from the pier today for a short cruise in Greece with VIP travellers who are reportedly Indian-born entrepreneurs, politicians and officials participating in the Greek-Indian business forum that is currently happening in Greece.
Seasonal charter rates for Christina O in Summer and Winter is from 560,000 Euros p/week + expenses.
