Greece’s Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, is currently in London and on Monday, following his speech at the Hellenic Centre, a crowd of Greeks waited outside for him and yelled, “Traitor, you sold Macedonia, now you will give away Cyprus.” While others screamed, “Shame on you! You sold Macedonia for 30 pieces of silver,” while throwing coins on the ground.
The crowd was of course referring to the thirty pieces of silver, which was the price Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus with, according to the Gospel of Matthew.
Tsipras however, seemed unfazed and kept smiling as he got back into his car and drove off, while the crowd continued to yell and protest against the “North Macedonia” name deal Tsipras agreed to with FYROM’s Prime Minister, Zoran Zaev.
