Greek airline Ellinair, will begin direct flights today, July 2, from Chania to Thessaloniki, the company announced on Wednesday.
The flights will be carried out every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday until the end of September, but the airline is considering extending these flights into the winter, the company added.
Commercial director of the Thessaloniki based airline Stavros Dalalakas says, "the flights are scheduled for every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday until the end of September, while the company is also considering the continuation of the flights during the winter."
During the presentation of the new routes, Mr. Dalalakas asked for support from the local authorities and the local community and emphasised that "the common goal of the union is to attract other airlines to the city airport.”
