Reports from the US claim three plastic bags of cocaine were found inside the downtown Cleveland hotel room of Socrates Kokkalis Jr, where the 34-year-old son of Greek billionaire Socrates Kokkalis Sr died, according to police reports.
Newspaper Cleveland ABC claims Kokkalis died of a suspected drug overdose, according to police reports. An official cause of death will be determined by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner.
Kokkalis is the son of Socrates P. Kokkalis Sr., a Greek business tycoon and founder of Intracom, a Greek telecommunications giant, which is the largest telecommunications company in southeastern Europe and has some 5,700 employees.
Kokkalis Jr. was staying at the Mariott Hotel on West Mall Drive in downtown Cleveland, according to a Cleveland police report.
Police and an ambulance were called to his room about 2:45 p.m. Saturday for a reported body found in the room, according to police report. Cleveland police's specialised drug-overdose death unit, the Heroin Involved Dead Investigation team, responded to the hotel to help investigate.
