First Wyndham Residence opens in Athens

The first ‘Wyndham Athens Residence’ by Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and Zeus International has opened up in Greece, located at Karaiskaki Square in the Metaxourghio neighbourhood of Athens. It is the first property operating under the “Wyndham Residence” brand in the world.

With an investment of 5 million euros, the Wyndham Athens Residence is housed in a fully renovated building, with 89 fully equipped apartment-style suites. Each guest-room offers a wide range of amenities including a mini kitchenette, a convertible sofa sleeper, espresso machine and luxurious bathroom products.

Chief Executive Officer of Zeus International said: “the aim of Wyndham Athens Residence is to offer comfortable long-term accommodation in the city centre, at affordable prices. It is ideal for families and younger travellers” which its flexible connecting rooms that can easily be converted into two-bedroom apartments.

‘Wyndham Athens Residence’ is located next to Metaxourgeio Metro Station and is within walking distance to the city's main attractions and shopping streets, including the Acropolis and National Archaeological Museum.

Facilities also available at Wyndham Athens Residence include a business corner, concierge services, smart access with a mobile app, VIP check-in, a fully-equipped fitness center and a rooftop bar and restaurant located on the sixth floor with a stunning view of Athens and the Lycabettus Hill.

Entering the Greek market in 2016, the Wyndham hotel group operates eight hotels which comprises of Wyndham Grand Athens, Wyndham Loutraki Poseidon Resort, Ramada Loutraki Poseidon Resort and the Dolce Attica Riviera in Vravrona, just to name a few.
The new concept of ‘Wyndham Athens Residence’ has already attracted the interest of travellers, as occupancy rates during its first month of operation reached 74 percent, and are estimated to reach 80 percent in August.

With such success, Wyndham plans to expand the new concept further by opening a second property in Athens’ city centre in 2019, and continue to other locations in Greece and the rest of the world.
