Greek American Academy Award and Golden Globe nominated writer and actress, Nia Vardalos has taken to Instagram telling her thousands of followers to #VisitGreece, as she shares some happy snaps of her holiday.
This is not the first time Nia has promoted Greece, previously using the same hashtag #VisitGreece in 2015 along with Hollywood actor Tom Hanks, promoting the beauty of Greece through social media and in interviews across the media spectrum.
The Hashtag #VisitGreece invites everyone, young and old to visit the Aegean, with its unique sights, beaches, mountains and of course the Greek islands that are just as precious and magnificent to see with your own eyes and to marvel at Greece’s proud history and unique culture.
On one of the photos Nia posted a pic of herself in Athens and a fan commented “I don’t know if you actually read these comments, but I would like to plan a vaca to Greece with my family, and I’d love your insight.....Santorini or Mykonos? Yacht or Hotel? I’m looking for a ‘once in a lifetime/over the top/Uber luxury type of trip. Thoughts???”. To the fans delight, Nia surprisingly responded back “both are great islands, and I suggest not going too luxury or you’ll miss out on rustic taverns and getting to know the locals… Also, if you book a villa or hotel, I suggest booking via @hotelbrain , they’re spectacular.”
This comes after the “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” star split from her husband of 25 years, Ian Gomez and was spotted on the gorgeous island of Antiparos with her daughter Illaria Gomez and her mother not long after returning to their their ancestral home to rest and relax post the previous weeks big news.
