Claims have now surfaced from George Michael's former lover,Fadi Fawaz that the beloved singer who rose to fame as a member of Wham!, committed suicide on Christmas Eve, following four previous attempts to take his own life.

George’s death was put down to natural causes, but in emails seen by The Sun - a tabloid newspaper, Fadi claims that George killed himself after five attempts and laid dead for 24 hours before he was found. His death on Christmas Eve coincided with George's beloved late mother’s birthday, Lesley Harrison who died after a cancer battle in 1997.

The former lover said he found George's body at home in Goring, Oxon, at around lunchtime after admitting to sleeping in his car on Christmas Eve.

Despite these claims, in March 2017 a coroners report stated that George died of natural causes and had dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and fatty liver. No time of death was ever set out by police or the coroner.

The results of a post mortem were never made public at the request of the family, and there was no mention of the toxicology test results.

George, whose full name is Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou sold more than 100m albums throughout a career spanning almost four decades and was loved by fans of all ages worldwide.
