Greek American Eleni Kounalakis is the front-runner in the race for Lieutenant Governor of California according to the latest polls, showing she is up 16 points from her rival Ed Hernandez.
Kounalakis, a member of the Democratic Party, announced her bid for the office of Lieutenant Governor of California in the 2018 election and came in first place in the June 2018 primary election.[1] She is a member of the Democratic Party.
“With 97 days to go until the General Election, and with at least 33% of voters still undecided, we still have a lot of work to do until Election Day” tweeted Kounalakis.
Born Eleni Tsakopoulos Kounalakis, the 52-year-old politician, diplomat and businesswoman served as the United States Ambassador to Hungary from 2010 to 2013 and was sworn into office by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on January 7, 2010.
