Greece’s Ambassador to Russia Andreas Fryganas was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry where he was handed a list of Russian’s retaliatory measures in response to Athens' actions towards Russian diplomatic officials and citizens in July.
Although the Russian ministry, in its statement, did not name the Greek diplomats it had expelled or say when it had asked them to leave, state-backed RIA news agency named them.
According to sources, Russia has ordered the expulsion of two Greek diplomats from Russia, including the head of Greece’s Foreign Ministry Political Bureau and the Commerce Attache.
The Greek Foreign Ministry is preparing an official response to Russia's full list of retaliatory measures which are yet to be made public.
