Police investigate bomb blast outside building in Piraeus

A bomb planted in a bag exploded on Wednesday morning in the port city of Piraeus, in the greater Athens area, near a local court complex.

According to eyewitnesses, just before the explosion, a car stopped and an unidentified person got out, leaving a bag at the entrance to the building and then returned to the car, then escaped the scene in high speed, reported Protothema.

The building apparently targeted by the blast hosts several law firms and a tax bureau.

Damages were reported to nearby parked vehicles and neighbouring building facades.

Police forces immediately blocked the area and began investigating the attack.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
