Genre sales outfit Devilworks has secured U.S. and Canadian distribution for Sacred Heart with Gravitas Ventures, a Red Arrow Studios company, which was released this month and available to North American audiences.

Written and directed by award-winning Greek Australian filmmaker Kosta Nikas and Starring AFI Winner David Field (Chopper, The Rover) and Kipan Rothbury (Significant Strangers) Sacred Heart chronicles the journey of a man (Rothbury), who rejects God and his faith, after the tragic death of his pregnant wife, then challenges the Devil. He receives a visit from his priest (Field), who pushes him to question his own beliefs. The Priest turns out to be a mirror of his own insanity, pushing the boundaries between heaven and hell.

Devilworks chief executive, Matteo Rolleri, who negotiated the deal said he was excited about the collaboration with Nikas when he first acquired the rights to the film.

"It is such an intelligent and powerful film, which has great scope. The script is eclectic, the performance at its finest and the direction is exceptional,” added Rolleri.

Other deals closed for Sacred Heart include Benelux (Take One), Poland (Kino Swiat), Australia & New Zealand (Umbrella Entertainment), Korea (Cinema Republic) Vietnam (Minh Ngan International Media) and Taiwan (Movie Cloud)

"A courageously adventurous and intensely probing film ...an unusually articulate and boldly original script," writes film critic Bernard Hemingway.

The film received its World Premiere at the Shanghai International film festival in 2017.
