Greek Air force training aircraft crashes in Tripoli

A T2 Air Force training aircraft crashed shortly before 10 am on Tuesday 28th of August, 2018, in the wider area between Sparta and Tripoli, near the village of Vlahokerasia.

According to initial reports, one of the pilots, who allegedly used the ejection system, was found alive, but the second one is still missing and there is a huge search for him.

On the border of Arcadia and Laconia, there are firefighting planes now helping with the investigation. Large ground forces of firefighters are also operating in the area.  The aircraft had taken off from the Kalamata Aviation Training Center.

The T2 is a US-made, two-wheeler training aircraft.
