Katerina Stefanidi won gold for the third year in a row at the Diamond League series in the final of the women’s Pole Vault jump in Zurich and climbed to the top of the podium with a jump of 4.87m. The Greek gold medalist has written history in Zurich by conquering the third consecutive diamond in her career- 2016, 2017 and 2018.
She has now equaled German Shekel Spiegelberg, who won the Diamond in 2011, 2012 and 2013. Stefanidi started from 4.67m and all the way through to 4.87metres, failing to make her attempt at 4.92m but was still the best performance.
Greece’s Nicole Kyriacopoulou passed her second attempt at 4.42m. and the 4.57m. but failed at 4.67m. taking the final 6th place.
