More demolitions of illegal buildings in Attica has commenced, with a beach bar operated by a hotel on the beach of Anavyssos being torn down on Monday.

The authorities have examined over 50 illegal buildings in the coastal zone and in forest areas along the Athens-Sounio coastline, while demolitions in the area of Grammatiko, eastern Attica, are in progress.

Moreover, demolitions of illegal buildings obstructing watercourses in Mandra are expected to start shortly.

According to reports, the government is set to proceed with a number of demolitions across Greece, including areas of the Peloponnese and the Ionian islands.
